CHICAGO, IL — October 23, 2020 — Uptake has been named #2 on the ninth annual Crain’s Chicago Business Most Innovative Companies List. Based on an independent review of patent output and quality, Uptake ranked among Chicagoland’s top companies conducting research and developing cutting-edge products. With 33 U.S. patents to date — fifteen of which were granted in 2019 — Uptake is leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to deliver asset management products that enable operators of heavy equipment to make data-driven decisions that mitigate risk, optimize maintenance strategies, reduce costs, and enhance safety and sustainability.
“Our 33 patents span across data science and industry-specific inventions and are incorporated in the products we deliver,” shared Brad Keywell, Founder & CEO of Uptake. “Since our founding in 2014, we’ve been building products that empower our customers to tackle challenges to asset maintenance and reliability. Research and development are foundational to our commitment to our customers as we help them solve their toughest operational challenges.”
Uptake President Kayne Grau added, “We’re thrilled to be recognized on this year’s list, and you can expect to see additional inventions and patents coming from Uptake. Our product suite will always reinforce our ability to be the market leader, providing superior value to heavy industry.”
This recognition from Crain’s Chicago comes as Uptake recently announced its expanded deployment with Berkshire Hathaway Energy Renewables and MidAmerican Energy Company. The company also recently released a new SaaS product, Uptake Scout, and launched into its twentieth country, providing advanced analytics to the trucking, rail, and wind sectors in India.
