Innovative solutions combine advanced analytics and proactive monitoring to prevent tire-related breakdowns and reduce maintenance costs.

CHICAGO, IL. — June 11, 2024 – Uptake, a data analytics provider empowering fleets and industrial machines with the information needed to make better, more strategic maintenance decisions, today announced Tire Insights, a new suite of solutions designed to revolutionize fleet maintenance and vehicle safety.

Tires are a primary cause of roadside breakdowns, accounting for over 50% of such incidents. Uptake’s Tire Insights offer unprecedented capabilities in monitoring and managing tire health to curtail significant failures by over 80%. The product suite, which currently includes Tire Leak Insights and the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Insight, helps fleets improve fuel efficiency by 5%, avoid costly downtime, increase operational efficiency, and reduce unsafe driving days by over 90%. These factors lower overall tire maintenance spend, often the highest expense in fleet management.

“We have proven Tire Insights are actionable and substantially reduce the risk of tire failures and their associated costs,” says Brian Silva, Sr. Director of Data Science at Uptake. “We regularly catch tire leaks the same day they start instead of two to three weeks later, when they are typically discovered.”

Over 80% of fleets depend on outdated methods for tire maintenance, depending on simpler, threshold-based alerts that can lead to false positives, according to an Anyline survey. Uptake’s solution uses advanced analytics to detect tire-related issues, such as leaks, sensor malfunctions and pressure drops, one month earlier than conventional systems. It leverages asset and axle tire pressure baselines, working together to identify and address pain points before they escalate into severe safety concerns. With these technologies, Uptake customers can keep drivers safe and lower operational costs, substantially impacting their bottom lines.

“At Uptake, we are relentlessly focused on product innovation and excellence,” says Adam McElhinney, CEO of Uptake. “Our new Tire Insights integrate seamlessly with existing tire pressure monitoring systems and leverage historical data to enhance insights and improve fleet maintenance strategies significantly.”

In addition to new tire monitoring solutions, Uptake launched a Fleet Insight Assessment Dashboard for a more granular analysis of fleet subsystem health. The new tool offers a high-level overview of Insights produced by a fleet over the past 90 days. Using the Dashboard, fleet managers can quickly cut through the noise and empower their maintenance teams to identify potential pain points, ultimately making smarter decisions faster.

Uptake’s Tire Insights are now in a piloting phase with select customers. For more information on how Tire Insights and the Fleet Insight Assessment Dashboard can benefit your fleet, contact Uptake today at learnmore@uptake.com, or explore our solutions at www.uptake.com/fleet.

Companies join to deliver an unmatched equipment business management platform to the $171B global equipment market.1 Combined company to be named Texada Software.

KITCHENER, Canada and TORONTO, Canada—February 7, 2023—(GLOBAL NEWSWIRE)—Texada Software, creators of leading SaaS rental and mobile applications for the equipment industry, today announced a merger with Uptake Canada, Inc. (also known as “Uptake Dealer,”), the equipment dealer software subsidiary of Uptake Technologies, which acquired what was formerly Canam Solutions in 2016.

An industry-leading SaaS platform for equipment dealer sales and services, Uptake Dealer provides insights to help teams better monitor machine health and planned services, avoid unplanned downtime, and improve the customer journey. Combined, the organization brings together market leaders and innovation in enterprise solutions across sales, rental, and service management. The new company, named Texada Software, will deliver a best-of-breed, full service, business management platform created by and developed for equipment industry experts.

Equipment businesses are under immense pressure to increase profitability through improved customer service, more efficient processes, and faster service delivery. These businesses require an integrated understanding of customer data and opportunities across equipment purchases and services for their fleets and rental needs. Whether the objective is to sell equipment, rent equipment, or provide services and parts, business managers are looking for a single platform that brings all facets together breaking down customer engagement silos.

“The equipment industry is eager to move away from disconnected data riddled with complexity,” said Matt Harris, CEO of Texada Software. “Dealerships and rental companies want a 360-degree understanding of customers and their interactions across the entire business. Only an integrated view will deliver operational excellence, and as a result, break down business silos. I’m thrilled that we are bringing together SaaS software leaders in rental management and dealership sales and service to manage the full lifecycle of customer possibilities.”

Texada Software has delivered rental management solutions for 40 years. Texada’s solutions seamlessly integrate an equipment rental company’s back office with its field operations, customer acquisition, and payments, enabling rental companies to have visibility into key business processes. Since 2006, Uptake Dealer has advanced sales and service for dealerships around the world. With their platform, dealerships manage both sales opportunities and assets through their respective lifecycles, including machine health, planned and unplanned service events, and sales effectiveness.

“As the equipment industry seeks to grow, fully understanding the relationship with their customers is a must have,” said Donald Charbonnet, independent equipment businesses consultant and 50-year veteran of the equipment industry. “Dealer companies sell, rent, and provide services while rental companies do the same. Yet, the applications available to manage the flow of data are all over the place. The result is a complex system of apps that do not talk to each other and ultimately cost sales or destroy service. The best businesses will have an integrated view to ensure that dealers and rental houses can maximize value for their customers.”

Leading these investments to drive growth and build business value for the equipment industry is Banneker Partners, a software investment firm based in San Francisco and Portland that acquired Texada Software in June of 2022. In August, Texada Software acquired LogiMove, creators of a next generation low-code / no-code mobile platform now called Texada Workflow with applications for field inspections and other workflows.

“Expanding the Texada platform with Uptake Dealer’s modern cloud solutions will help customers to grow revenue, improve customer satisfaction, and increase efficiencies,” said Hugh Kirkpatrick, Principal at Banneker Partners. “It’s a privilege to support Matt and the Texada team, and to welcome Jordan Hodges, Linda Nikkel, Moacir Mendonca, and the rest of the Uptake Dealer team on this journey to transform and digitize the equipment industry.”

The acquisition is effective immediately. GrowthPoint Technology Partners acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Uptake Technologies through the transaction. More information about this announcement, platform demos, and a chance to meet with company leadership will be available at the upcoming American Rental Association show in Orlando, Florida February 11-15. Texada will be exhibiting at booth #3571.

Uptake teams with AWS to Bring Predictive Maintenance Software to Transportation, U.S. Department of Defense

CHICAGO — July 26, 2022 — Uptake, a leader in industrial intelligence, announced today that its predictive maintenance software for the on-highway and public sectors, Uptake Fleet and Uptake Federal, are available in the AWS Marketplace. Customers can access the products from the AWS Marketplace, a curated digital catalog that customers use to find, buy, deploy, and manage third-party software, data, and services to build solutions and run their businesses on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The listings streamline onboarding Uptake’s products on AWS so organizations can quickly and securely improve asset uptime, maintenance, and supply chain efficiency.

“Uptake and AWS have a common mission to deliver value for our customers through easy-to-use software. We’re excited about this next step in our strategic relationship to make it even easier for fleets to turn data into more reliable operations,” said Kayne Grau, CEO, Uptake. “AWS Marketplace simplifies account management, enabling fleets to quickly deploy our products and see top risks in operations before they further impact deliveries or mission readiness.”

More than 200,000 commercial vehicles rely on Uptake Fleet to boost on-highway performance and improve vehicle maintenance, including private fleets like PepsiCo and for-hire carriers such as United Road, an auto transport and logistics company that ships over 4 million units annually across North America.

“Uptake Fleet keeps our drivers happy and safe on the road,” shared Mark Anderson, President & CEO, United Road. “The software allows our maintenance team to predict and prevent breakdown from the various sensor readings of a truck’s engine, just with a few valuable insights. It’s critical to our ability to haul cars and meet and exceed our customers’ expectations.”

With predictive insights on impending vehicle conditions and an up-to-date overview of asset survivability, maintenance and operations teams proactively make cost-effective repairs and avoid roadside breakdowns. Uptake Fleet empowers teams to better plan repair shop operations. Integrations with fleet management systems like Geotab and Trimble plug predictive insights into existing workflows.

“AWS Marketplace makes it easier for customers to identify, purchase, and adopt industry-leading software and professional services,” said Manish Govil, Global Segment Leader, Supply Chain, AWS. “Uptake brings expertise in predictive maintenance analytics through intuitive and impactful software for their transportation and logistics customers. With the pay-as-you-go model in AWS Marketplace, commercial fleets and governmental agencies have the affordable and secure access to get started.”

Uptake Federal provides maintenance analytics software on ground assets for the U.S. Department of Defense. Through predictive insights on equipment performance and suggested part levels, commanders and asset managers in the DoD have the data-backed support to plan mission logistics, increase troop readiness, improve equipment availability, and protect warfighter safety.

The availability of Uptake Fleet and Federal in the AWS Marketplace comes as Uptake recently announced that small fleets and owner-operators could also leverage predictive maintenance analytics to improve uptime. A plug-in with TruckSuite allows small carriers to tap the managed services of the TruckSuite Technology Platform to operationalize predictive insights on their vehicles and avoid road calls, expensive repairs, or extended downtime.
