Uptake Recognized as one of Chicago’s Best Large Employers

CHICAGO — January 5, 2022 — Uptake was named today to Built In’s 2022 Best Places To Work Awards. Specifically, Uptake earned a place in the Best Large Companies to Work For in Chicago category. The annual awards program includes companies of all sizes, from startups to those in the enterprise, and honors both remote-first employers as well as companies in the eight largest tech markets across the U.S.

“We’re thrilled to be named as a Built In Best Places to Work company for our culture and benefits,” said Linda Bartman, Chief Operating Officer, Uptake. “We know that work-life balance is essential to a collaborative, productive, and authentic culture, and to the impact we make on our customers in the heavy industries.”

Built In determines the winners of Best Places to Work based on an algorithm, using company data about compensation, benefits and companywide programming. To reflect the benefits candidates are searching for more frequently on Built In, the program also weighs criteria like remote and flexible work opportunities, programs for DEI and other people-first cultural offerings.

“It is my honor to extend congratulations to the 2022 Best Places to Work winners,” shared Sheridan Orr, Chief Marketing Officer, Built In. “This year saw a record number of entrants — and the past two years fundamentally changed what tech professionals want from work. These honorees have risen to the challenge, evolving to deliver employee experiences that provide the meaning and purpose today’s tech professionals seek.”

This recognition from Built In comes as Uptake was recently acknowledged by Purpose Jobs for Best Benefits at a Mid-Size Tech Company in its Top Chicago Startups to Watch in 2022 list.

Purpose Jobs recently released its “Top Chicago Startups to Watch in 2022” list, which recognized Uptake for “Best Benefits” at a mid-size tech company.

It’s true, we do have great benefits. Uptake’s entire workforce is currently remote with an option to work in our big, beautiful, empty offices in Chicago, Illinois or Missassaga, Ontario, Canada. We know benefits and culture are what matters – not unlimited coffee and snacks (well, maybe coffee). The best we can do is give our people the flexibility to balance work and life while trying to foster genuine camaraderie.

Uptake’s benefits program includes a mandatory, hour-long “re-power hour” added to employees’ calendar every day for any personal needs, during which no meetings are scheduled, and of course health, dental, vision, unlimited PTO (yep), 12 weeks paid parental leave (we’re all about family), extensive infertility benefits, 14 paid holidays (more family time), 401K match (no one wants to work forever), and a technology stipend (we use our phones a lot).

These are just a few of the essential benefit components Uptake provides. Our vision is to translate data into smarter operations, and our people make that possible.
